Inspiration and Design

The beginning of any journey starts with inspiration. This first step your inspiration is harnessed by our design team who lend experience and an eye helping find the materials and solutions for your inspiration to become a project reality. At any phase of interest, we encourage customers to visit our showroom to ask some questions and see what’s possible.

As you walk through our vast collection of different slabs and sample pieces our design team can discuss your ideas and show you different options. If we do not have what you're looking for in our inventory or samples we will arrange for the material to be brought in for you to view.

Important points for customers in this phase of a project:

  • Bring a copy of project details (measurements, layouts)

  • Color samples of your walls and cabinetry are helpful to our designers

  • The more you bring in for us to work with, the better the project will go.

Choosing Material and Estimation

After you choose one or a few different colors, we will go over different variables in your kitchen so we can create a custom estimate for your job.

These variables include such things as whether or not you have an under mount sink, cooktop/type of stove, if you want a granite or tile backsplash, are we removing existing countertops, do we need to build your countertops up to meet an existing tile backsplash and what type of edge profile you desire.

We do not give square foot (SF) pricing because we know each job design is unique. Be aware that many of the companies that offer SF pricing have hidden fees that are added on after they receive your deposit and make the template.

Important points for material decision and estimation phase of the process:

  • Understand the nature of the materials you are thinking about going with

  • Have measurements ready

Template and Layout

At this phase, our investments in the latest technology come in.

The new laser templating system gets a precise template of your project and is able to template over existing countertops. No details are overlooked including sink/faucet holes, overhangs, and radiuses. You will need to have your sink, faucet, and cooktop (if applicable) on site when we make the template, without them, the process can become delayed.

After the template is made we arrange the layout over a photo of the slab you’ve chosen - we bring our experience in here and work with you on finding the best cuts to make for your project.

The typical turnaround time from template to installation is about 1 week.]

Important points for the template:

  • Have everything cleared where the template will be made

  • Have any appliance and items that will be used with the material available during the template

Fabrication

After the template is made the digital file is then brought to our CNC programmer where it is uploaded to a computer program that allows us to find the best layout for your selected slab or slabs. All unique details such as grain, flow and spots can be utilized in the layout to accentuate these traits and characteristics that are unique to your particular granite countertop. We give careful attention to these aspects, as we believe doing this artfully is what separates our product from cheaper bargain countertops.

After a layout is chosen your stone slab is loaded on our brand new Park Industries Titan CNC where cuts are made and powerful water jet curves out finer details like a sink and faucet holes.

The pieces are then moved to our detailing area where our craftsmen route and hand polish your countertop. This is where our fabricators will also insert steel rod reinforcements if your stone needs it.

For polishing, we use seven different polishing grits to create a mirror-like shine on the edges. Sometimes countertop companies take shortcuts and only use three polishing grits and then apply a concealing wax to create a shine that is only temporary and will dull shortly after tops are installed.

These are the type of corners we don’t cut at Natural Stoneworks.

Important points for fabrication:

  • This part is all us - relax and get ready for the next and final phase!

Installation

The final phase is when the stone pieces are OK’d from our shop and installed in your home by our installers. We take extra steps to make sure stone is loaded in a professional manner to avoid any damage in transportation.

Our installers will carefully place the countertops into your home or business and complete the necessary steps to secure any sinks, caulk along back edges, create near invisible seams and seal the countertops. After leaving you with a shiny beautiful product our installers are available to answer any final questions or concerns you may have.

We are a type of business that if we don’t hear from you after installation it means we did our job. If you do have questions or concerns however we are always at your service as a Natural Stoneworks customer.

Some tips to make the installation go smoothly:

  • Clear paths from entry to your home to the installation site

  • Have any remaining care questions or concerns prepared to ask our installers
